The Binomial Theorem

Here is a derivation of Newton’s generalized binomial theorem, also known as the binomial series. Returning to this document after almost ten years, I do not recall exactly why I prepared it. I must have been disappointed by the account in the textbook used in calculus lectures I was assigned to give.
